PERSONAL PROJECT
NON LETHAL
Over the course of two days, I was shot at, pepper sprayed, struck with shrapnel, tear gassed, and caught within 20 feet of multiple flash grenades.
In that same span, eleven members of my community were kidnapped—grabbed off the street by masked men in unmarked cars who refused to identify themselves. They were taken without explanation and disappeared.
They call these tactics "non-lethal."
And yet—
People are dead.
People are permanently injured.
People vanish without a trace.
This ongoing series documents the disconnect between the language of "safety" and the reality of force. These are the faces, the bodies, the moments left behind.
